Porous Platform Inks for Fast and High‐Resolution 3D Printing of Stationary Phases for Downstream Processing

Abstract Purifications of biologics can be improved using 3D printed stationary phases with perfectly ordered morphology. However, limited spatial resolution and lack porous materials have hindered application additive manufacturing in bioprocessing. To bridge this gap, digital light processing polymerization‐induced phase separation are combined to fabricate platform bed morphology at the micrometer scale, network nanometer scale. Four different inks developed, printed, characterized terms their rheological behaviour, polymerization kinetics, printing resolution. Rapid (down 1 h) is achieved scale (up 100 mL column) supports (50% porosity) high 50 µm for linear features 200 complex geometries). 3D‐printed gyroids chemically functionalized various ion exchange ligands. These successfully challenged i) model proteins dynamic conditions ii) protein capture from a clarified cell harvest, demonstrating binding capacities between 5 16 mg −1 up 86% purity single run. This work introduces rapid facile approach downstream processing.
